As I mentioned earlier, I'm putting together a new iteration of the MAMA Project for the Deer Lake Gallery in Burnaby. The opening and performance will be May 13, 2017.
I thought it would be nice to share some of the audio that will be a part of the new installation. As a reminder, these are all anonymous mothers I interviewed on the topic of mothering and being mothered. In fact none of the voices you'll hear in the trailers correspond to mothers you'll see painted in these videos - which is the point of the MAMA Project. Our stories belong to us collectively, and what one mother experiences affects us all. The diversity of our experience and practice as mothers is the web with which we hold each generation. It's the nest that humanity grows up in. So it's important to recognize ourselves and the importance of the work we do.
